This weekend we went down to Kingswear and Dartmouth to view a boat. It's a lovely place, with shades of 'balamory' in all the coloured houses. Posted by Picasa

The 'water taxi' ride was fun, even though we were bundled up against the cold and Max was a little unsure about the whole enterprise. Posted by Picasa

We looked at, and liked, a boat that we saw down in Dartmouth, and are seeing whether the owner can work out some problems with certification and European bureaucracy before we can decide about price. Posted by Picasa

On the actual birthday, we went down to London to visit the aquarium. Max particularly enjoyed the train and tube ride, and the aquarium was good fun. Posted by Picasa

Face painting was the order of the day,and Mummy's fairy cake was very popular. Posted by Picasa

Issie turned 4 last week (13 March) and had a 'fairy theme' birthday party, which everyone enjoyed. Here she is presiding over her table full of friends. Posted by Picasa

Spoonerism by Issie...

you know spoonerisms - exchanging the first letters of two words (he was a shining wit) etc.

The kids were having popcorn and Issie announces that she's not going to say popcorn but cockporn.

No. You can't. And I'm not telling you why. And I have to leave the room now before I giggle.

We've not found a boat....

Well, an interesting week. We've walked away from the boat purchase, after we found out that she might have a lot more problems than were being disclosed to us. We got some very poor feedback from an independent source, and I got a bad feeling about the whole deal from some things the owner said and did, so we pulled the plug.

Fortunately, we're out of it without any costs, as we stopped before doing the survey, and we'll get our deposit back. So it's onwards to look at some more!
